Today, House Minority Leader James Beverly advocated for a fair proposed joint Congressional map, which the Georgia House and Senate Democratic Caucuses believe firmly demonstrates the Democratic Party’s commitment to a fair, transparent, and inclusive redistricting effort. House Minority Leader James Beverly released the following statement: "Across the state, our map ensures that Georgia’s growing diverse population has a fair opportunity to elect candidates of their choice, reflects the movement of Georgians to urban areas, and reflects that Metro Atlanta is responsible for the majority of Georgia’s growth over the last decade."

"We also heard Georgians demanding a transparent process with an opportunity for public input, and that’s what we did. We had our congressional plan posted on the Reapportionment Office’s website almost a month ago, giving the public plenty of time to analyze it and provide feedback. At the end of the day, we think our map is the best map for Georgia because it reflects the fair process that Georgians demanded and the fair result that Georgia deserves."
